The feeling of patriotism sometimes throws a person into the furnace of torture in a terrible prison like black water, and sometimes it makes him stand on the gallows. Knowing this result, the lovers of freedom struggle continued to offer their heads on the sacrifice one after the other. Master Amirchand, the master of such inspiration was.

Amar Revolutionary  Master Amirchand, the zealous soldier of India's Jung-e-Azadi, was born in 1869 to a teacher Hukumchand in a Vaish family of Delhi. Amirchand was a brilliant student since childhood. Amirchand gained equal authority over Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit and English all languages through his hard work and was seen among his peers and teachers as a very capable and meritorious student. He was gifted with valor and the art of keeping secrets to himself, which supported him a lot later in his revolutionary life. The belief of patriotism was so strong in his mind that during the Swadeshi movement he opened a Swadeshi store in the market of Hyderabad where he used to sell pictures of patriots and revolutionary literature. Amirchand thus became Master Amirchand and he was a social worker of very religious nature. Since childhood, he had a strong feeling to do something for the society and he used to experience great pain after seeing the suffering of the oppressed and the oppressed. At an age in which children do not have proper knowledge about themselves, they liked to study, contemplate and contemplate about the country and religion. And now he himself was the master. During this time, he also joined the Swadeshi movement being run against the British government. and soon became its main pillars.

In 1919, Swadeshi exhibition was also organized in Delhi. Master Amirchand was recognized as a major activist of the Swadeshi movement. Contact with the famous revolutionary leader, Lala Har Dayal, brought in the revolutionary movement, then Lala Lajpat Rai pressured Hardayal ji to leave India. Where he continued to meet Madam Cama, Pt. Shyamji Krishna Varma and Sardar Singh Rana. In 1908-09, on the shoulders of Master Amirchand Janak, the important burden of organizing the revolutionary movement was put in the whole of North India. Master Amirchand's education was initiated in Delhi itself. That's why he was familiar with every corner of Delhi. He was a teacher with BA profession from St. Stephen's College. Amir Chand was a teacher of St. Stephen's College, the belief of patriotism was so strong in his mind that, after resigning from the job, he became a teacher at Cambridge Mission High School run by Christians there. But the teaching job was just an excuse. His heart used to yearn for the independence of the country.

Due to his social work, he once met the eminent revolutionist Lala Hardayal living in Delhi, who inspired Master Amirchand to participate in the freedom movement and engage in revolutionary activities. After this, Amirchand started working actively by joining the Ghadar Party formed by the Indians living in America to make the country independent for the purpose of making a revolution like 1857. When Lala ji went to America to awaken India's independence abroad, the heavy burden of organizing revolutionary activities in North India, especially in Punjab, was handed over to the strong shoulders of Master Amirchand.

In this sequence, he came in contact with the well-known revolutionary Rash Behari Bose, who was trying to do revolutionary activities in Punjab in those days and together with him played an important role in directing revolutionary activities in North India. By getting the pamphlets named 'Liberty' printed, Master Amirchand started distributing them all over India. Through these pamphlets they wanted to spread hatred towards the British rulers. The belief of patriotism was so strong in his mind that during the Swadeshi movement he opened a Swadeshi store in the market of Hyderabad where he used to sell pictures of patriots and revolutionary literature.

When there was a wave of Swadeshi movement in the country during the partition, he jumped into it. His activism was not liked by the people of Cambridge Mission School. So he was fired from his job. On this he became a teacher in National High School. It was founded by Lala Hanumant Sahay, a prosperous businessman of Delhi in his own house. Master Amirchand was also a journalist. In order to spread revolutionary activities, Master Amirchand diligently engaged in the work of building relations with like-minded people from other cities of North India so that any step could be taken against the British government in an organized manner. In 1908, Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chaki threw a bomb on Kingsford, the magistrate of Muzaffarpur. Due to this incident, the British Empire was shaken and the whole country was caught. In such a situation, Bhai Balmukund, who was active in Lahore, left Lahore to Delhi to escape the police and stayed here with Master Amirchand, which later turned into a close relationship. It was through Bhai Balmukund that Master Sahib was introduced to Bhai Ji's Lahore companion Awadh Bihari. Later, when the situation improved, Bhaiji returned to Lahore, but this contact with the thinker and master Amirchand, who was considered a scholar, made his thinking towards the goal more clear. Having a clear vision about the revolutionary activities, the writings, publications of revolutionary literature. The entire burden of campaigning and publicity was borne by Master Amirchand, who later, after coming in contact with him, to some extent also came on the shoulders of brother Balmukund. He also took out a letter called Akash for independence, every single word in this letter was against the British.

Meanwhile, due to the increasing pressure of the revolutionaries in Bengal, the British shifted the capital of India from Calcutta to Delhi. The eminent revolutionary Rash Behari Bose planned to throw a bomb on the then Viceroy Lord Hardinge to create fear in the minds of the British. Master Amirchand played an important role in the execution of this plan. To execute the plan, Basant Kumar Vishwas, a disciple of revolutionary Amarendra Chatterjee, came to his house in Delhi on 21 September 1912. On the second day on 22nd September, Rash Behari Bose also came to Delhi. Later Bhai Balmukund got Basant Kumar a job as a compounder at a doctor's place in Lahore so that no one doubts Basant Kumar. A few days before the scheduled time of the procession to make the capital transfer memorable, Basant Kumar again came to Delhi and this time also stayed with Master Sahib. On 23 December morning, Master Sahib reached Chandni Chowk with Basant Kumar and arranged for him to sit in the Punjab National Bank building. At the appointed time, the royal procession began in which Viceroy Hardings was riding on an elephant with his wife. Also behind the bodyguard Maxwell Mahavat and outside the hood was Mahavir Singh, the umbrella guard. People were standing on the side of the road, watching this huge procession from the roofs and windows of the houses. The Shobha Yatra had reached in front of the Punjab National Bank located in the middle of Chandni Chowk when suddenly there was a huge explosion. Basant Kumar Vishwas threw a bomb at him but missed the target. The police could not find any clues in any of the blasts in Delhi, and the British government was seeing this as its defeat. In such a situation, the police, while diverting attention from the bomb blasts, started investigation related to the pamphlets and other literature spreading the spirit of sedition with the thought that this investigation might give some clue about the bomb blasts in future. During this investigation, the police came to know that a person named Dinanath is associated in some way or the other with the leaflet named Liberty. When Dinanath was asked in a stern voice what do you know about all this, Dinanath said with a chuckle, No sir, I am Liberty (a leaflet written by Brother Balmukund and Master Amirchand to promote the revolution) or any other paper. doesn't know anything about. This was enough for the police to understand that this man knows something or the other about revolutionary activities. By luring Dinanath to pardon, the police made him an official witness and in order to save his life, he gave the names and addresses of all the persons involved in the above bomb blast incidents to the police. On the basis of these information, the police arrested Master Amirchand from his house on 19 February 1914.

At the time of his arrest, the remains of used bombs, material for making bombs and revolutionary literature were recovered from his house. After this, Bhai Balmukund, Awadh Bihari, Basant Kumar and other companions were also gradually arrested. Brother Balmukund was also arrested on his suggestion. Master Amirchand was accused of writing a fiery pamphlet called 'Liberty', which was distributed while throwing bombs at the Viceroy. It was written in it - We are so many in number that we can snatch their guns. These rotten reform schemes will not be of any use. Topple once and finish by killing Firangi…. This paper was enough to prosecute him. Although many eminent citizens of Delhi called him innocent. Lawyers argued vigorously in his favor; But the deaf government was not ready to listen to anything. The judge also did not forget to describe the kindness of Master ji in his decision. He said that. It should be remembered that a patriot like Amirchandra, if his eccentricity is removed for any particular thing, then he is a very innocent person of honor worthy of respect.

Delhi-Lahore Conspiracy Case

They were tried in what is called the Delhi-Lahore Conspiracy Case. All were produced in the court on 16 March 1914. On 5 October 1914, the court held him guilty and sentenced him to death along with his companions Bhai Balmukund, Awadhbihari and Basat Kumar Biswas. Feeling happy that he was sentenced to death, he said that he would also wear the noose with the same fervor as he had once worn a garland. .

His Own Son Betrayed

Master Amirchand had already worn the sacrificial veil. He had no fear of death. He was troubled that his companion Dinanath had become an informer but he had yet to see more suffering. When his adopted son Sultanchand stood before the court to testify against him, Master Amirchand was heartbroken. He turned his face with wide eyes. He was accompanied by three other revolutionaries who kissed the noose - Awadh Bihari, Bhai Balmukund and Basantkumar Vishwas.

He was hanged along with Awadh Bihari in Delhi Central Jail on May 8, 1915. On May 8, 1915, Master Amirchand, the inspiration of revolutionaries, was hanged in Delhi itself. In the memory of all these revolutionaries of Delhi-Lahore Conspiracy Case, a park named Shaheed Smarak has been built in one corner of the hanging of the then jail of Delhi, which is today's Maulana Azad Medical College.
