                             India's Forgotten...? Freedom Fighter...? We Indians have forgotten the brave freedom fighters of the freedom struggle. Major Durga Malla Indian Gorkhas were the first Gurkha soldiers of the Indian National Army (INA) to sacrifice their lives for the Indian independence movement. Major Durga Malla was born on 1 July 1913 in Doiwala village near Dehradun to Gangaram Malla Chhetri, a Naib Subedar in the Gorkha Rifles. He was the eldest son of Naib Ganga Malla.
