Department of Higher Education, Department of School Education and Literacy carried out various activities under 'Azadi Ka Amrit' is planned. Many revolutionaries contributed to the independence of India, but unfortunately we Indians forgot their contribution. Such were the great heroes of freedom.

                       Raja Narpati Singh Rakwad….. ?

Ruia Garhi is a small village at a distance of about two kilometers from Madhauganj town in the north direction. Ruia Garhi has been an important contributor to India's independence. Most of us in today's new India do not know about Ruia Garhi and about the leadership who, showing his indomitable courage, chewed iron gram to the British armies. At the time of the freedom struggle in India, Ruia Garhi was a princess, but in the freedom struggle, the Ghori government trembled after hearing the name of Ruia Garhi.

At that time Ruia Garhi used to be a princely state. It is famous for its Raja Narpat Singh who was a brave freedom fighter. After occupying most areas of Awadh, the British army was in the process of capturing Hardoi as well, but due to the indomitable bravery and strategy of Narpat Singh, the British had to face defeat four times.

In the fifth war, the British attacked with a large number of soldiers and cannons. In this battle too, the soldiers of Narpati Singh and Ruia Garhi gave a befitting reply. Even in this battle, Narpati Singh and Ruia Garhi did not back down and arranged soldiers for the war. But since the British had modern weapons and a large number of soldiers.

The feet of the British were starting to crumble, during which suddenly the king was martyred. In such a situation, there was no Surma left to stop the British occupation of Hardoi. So they were able to defeat Ruia Garhi. Soon, Hardoi came under the control of the British.

British will not be able to wave the British flag in Hardoi while Narpati is alive…..

Even today in Ruia Garhi, 36 km from the Hardoi headquarters, the story of the defeat of the British rule is neatly threaded. Truly Ruia Durg is a story of pride not only for the district but for the country. The village of Ruia, surrounded by a lake on three sides, was popularly known as Ruia Durg or Rumgarh before independence. The British rule had been established in Awadh, but could not survive the British on Hardoi's land. Raja Narpat Singh of Ruia Durg had blown a trumpet against British rule. Meanwhile, the Peshwa from Kanpur invited the king to cooperate in the freedom struggle, and the king assured him that the British would not be able to wave the British flag in Hardoi while Narpati was alive.

The British army had to face defeat in four battles.

The British considered the Khilafat of Raja Narpat Singh as their insult and attacked Hardoi. Raja Narpat Singh fought the British for about one and a half years. The brave soldiers of Ruia killed all the British soldiers and did not allow the British to enter Hardoi. When the British tried to build a cantonment in Mallawan to encircle Ruia, the king attacked on 8 June 1987 and killed the British army contingent in Mallawan.

District Deputy Commissioner W. C. Chapper managed to escape. After this, the British attacked Raja Narpat Singh with a large army but had to be defeated. According to historians, the king was attacked by the British four times.

For the first time on 15 April 1858 at Ruia fort, then on 22 April 1858 in Sirsa village on the banks of Ramganga. The third attack took place on 28 October at Ruia Fort. The last battle took place on 9 November 1858 in Minnouly. There was a lot of damage in this battle. As a result, except for Narpat Singh, all the kings, nawabs, zamindars became followers of the British, the war between Raja Narpati and the British continued for about one and a half years. After the war that lasted for one and a half years, Narpati Singh was martyred.

Dharmendra Singh Somvanshi, president of the Freedom Fighter Succession Organization, raised his voice for building a memorial in Ruia in the memory of Ruia Naresh Narpat Singh, who wasted the British in the freedom revolution of 1857, followed by a statue of Raja Narpat Singh in the year 2000. The construction of the memorial coincided with the installation and then Chief Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the memorial. BJP leader Ashok Singh says that a large number of people pay homage to the festival of independence.

The Amrit Festival of Independence gives us this opportunity to know our history even more closely keeping in mind our future because when you read about the freedom struggle and try to know it closely, you will know how India has given birth to heroes and they had so much self-confidence and so much love for the country that they were ready to give up their lives.

that's also the reason many people who were martyred fighting for freedom in the struggle for freedom, and even after leaving, they all raised the slogan of independence and saw the dream of independent India, and this is also the reason that India got the result of its struggle and India Became independent on 15 August 1947, freed from British rule.

Salute to such a brave freedom fighter who was martyred for the freedom of the country.
